Turkish President Lands in Azerbaijan to Attend Turkic States Summit
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan touched down in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala on Tuesday aboard the presidential aircraft to attend the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Upon arrival at Gabala International Airport, Erdogan was met by prominent officials, including Azerbaijani Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev, Gabala Governor Sebuhi Abdullayev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Türkiye Rashad Mammadov, and Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku Birol Akgun.
Erdogan's delegation included high-ranking government figures such as Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Trade Minister Omer Bolat, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Chair Hayati Yazici, and several other senior members of the AK Party. The group also featured key figures such as Kursad Zorlu, the AK Party Deputy Chair and chief for relations with Turkic states, Halit Yerebakan, the AK Party Deputy Chair for health policies, and Leyla Sahin Usta, Deputy Parliamentary Group Chair.
Additionally, Burhanettin Duran, Presidential Communications Director, Akif Cagatay Kilic, Erdogan's Chief Foreign Policy and Security Adviser, Ismet Buyukataman, Secretary-General of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), and other influential officials, including Samil Ayrim, Chair of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, also accompanied the president.
After disembarking, Erdogan and his team proceeded to the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center, where the OTS summit is taking place. The summit, which is focused on "Regional Peace and Security," is expected to feature an address from Erdogan himself, and the president will later participate in an official dinner hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
